While the race happened in real-time, we were able to monitor a live feed of a single camera following Kai Leenny across the Kaiwi channel between Moloka‘i and O‘ahu.
The 32-mile race starts in Kepuhi Bay on the northwest shore of Moloka‘i and finishes in Maunalua Bay on the southeast shore of O‘ahu.
The amazing part is we had a stable, robust live feed in the middle of the ocean using 10 internet connections from various carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Starlink! Didn't drop a frame. We're ready for the Molokai' Hoe coming up in October 2023 to broadcast live to KHON.
