PBX21

PBX21 was a hybrid event with both live in-person presenters and virtual presenters over Zoom. The challenge was to have the in-room presenters be able to present with virtual presenters side by side to a live audience. To top off the production challenge, we were able to monitor and switch 2 separate rooms simultaneously at the Hawaii Convention Center.

Using NDI as our backbone, we used Birddog PTZ cameras and Birddog encoders and decoders to control the projectors IMAG in each zoom, return a virtual camera to the zoom meeting for the virtual presenters to see the live in-person attendees to make them feel as if they were a part of the session. Everything was glued together by NewTek TriCasters over a robust 10G private network.
